Carrie studied at the California State University of Sacramento and after receiving her B.A. in Photography, carried on to expand her portfolio into portrait, wedding, fashion and lifestyle photography. With a passion for creating and an eye for detail, she strives to capture playful, romantic images for her clients. A published photographer, her work can be found in Charleston Magazine, WNC Magazine, Charleston Weddings and Real Weddings Magazine.
1. How did you get into the wedding photography business?
“About 5 years ago, I called the local wedding photographers in my area and asked them if they would hire me as a second photographer and there happened to be two photographers that were looking for someone, so they hired me on the spot!”
2. What do you enjoy about being a wedding photographer?
“I enjoy the diversity of what I get to photograph throughout the day. I get to cover photojournalistic candid shots, portraits, decor, jewelry, fashion, food and landscape all in one day! I love getting to meet new people and be in new environments every time! “
3. What keeps you creative/inspired?
“I really enjoy textures, color and lighting and I take these into account when creating an image…I enjoy creating stunning images in a challenging environment that is less than ideal.”
4. What is one thing you would like every bride & groom to know before the wedding?
“I help my couples with creating their wedding day itinerary so we get all the important shots they want throughout the day. I want couples to know that rarely does everything stay perfectly on schedule and that’s okay! The most important thing is that you have fun and enjoy your day and know that I will be there helping throughout the day so that we get those images you will cherish for years to come!”
5. How has witnessing so many weddings impacted your life/outlook?
“Being in an environment in which I get to witness the love between two people is a very powerful experience. I love that I get to spend time with couples every weekend and hear them promise to choose each other every day through thick and thin. It really is moving and inspiring to be around and I feel blessed that I get to document this huge step in their lives together.”
