May 12, 2017 was a child-free night and they were long overdue for a night out on the town. A last-minute decision landed them at a Chinese restaurant, the location of their first “official” date. It was too dark after dinner to watch the sun set, but warm enough so James suggested a walk downtown. As they arrived at the park and followed the path around the garden, James told her about how much he loved the city of Dover (where she had grown up) and how he wanted to live there someday with their kids. Then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! They met about 8 years ago at a local bank where Cristina worked. Every Friday after work James would deposit his paycheck hoping to just say “hi” to her. Years went by with an each of them going through their share of failed relationships and one day about 5 years later James asked her out. Turns out she was dating someone at the time so she turned him down. Then a few months later in October of 2016, she decided it was her turn to give it a try with James. Can you believe he turned her down initially to work on his car and eat a sandwich?! Thank God he changed his mind! They finally had a lunch date and they’ve be inseparable ever since.

She (and her assistant) really captured the sentiments of the day and everyone’s’ expressions.
