Should you ask your guests to unplug?
Unplugged weddings have become a growing trend that makes a lot of sense. So what does it mean?
A lot of couples are asking their guests to keep their phones in their pocket and enjoy the moment. With increased affordability of DSLR cameras and high-quality camera phones, many guests will want to pull them out and take pictures during your wedding.
The problem with this is that many of your professional pictures will be flooded with pictures of phone screens. Your guests will also be focused on getting “the shot” instead of enjoying this monumental moment in your life.
How can you avoid this? Many couples are using signs at the entrance of the ceremony asking them to keep their phones put away. You can also print this in the invitation and/or program. You can simply explain that you have hired a professional photographer and that you will share the pictures and/or video after the wedding.
You may want to ask your guests to unplug at the ceremony (just parts or not at all), but either way, remember it is up to you and your fiance to decide how you would like your special day captured!
