Charmiene & Mario

Charmiene & Mario both work for a Veteran’s home community but at different departments. It was Charmiene first year there while he just returned after many years of working somewhere else. Her department is usually closed off from the rest of the community and she can usually be found at a corner of a basement so she has not met many of the employees. Then one day his department decided to send him to replace the person they normally send to Charmiene’s department. That day she was also replacing a staff on leave at a more secluded area of their department so that’s when they met. That day it was just the two of them in that area so, despite her shyness, She followed this feeling of wanting to know him. She said Hi right away and asked for his name. From then on they just seem to notice each other more often until he finally asked her out in the same basement when they were alone.

The Proposal
They got engaged 4 months after their first date! He hid the ring in a poke ball and proposed to her in a dark park. Things were moving quickly but she decided to just run with him anyway.

Wedding Inspiration
“We were aiming for a simple, rustic, woodsy and fall theme.”

Favorite Wedding Memory
“My favorite part was the dancing… with my husband, our family and the guests. When the ceremony, the first dance, the eating, and greeting were done there was a feeling of release that we can just have fun now. No more planning and worrying. We just had fun, dancing and celebrating.”

D.I.Y. Details
“The only DIY detail for us is the welcome table. We did not want to stress out the day of our wedding but at the same time we wanted an area that we did on our own so bought a bunch of stuff and put them together.”

& a Word of Advice…
“It will be stressful but at the end of the day it is still about the two of you getting married. “
