“Writing our own vows, my husband’s vows to my son (his now step-son), my son and dad walking me down the aisle, horse and carriage ride to the ceremony site, our friend being the officiant, the quiet moment with just the 2 of us after we’d taken pictures and everyone had headed to the cocktail areas (my husband and I just admired the beauty of where we were, watched the party of our loved ones across the lake, and breathed in being married)”

& a Word of Advice…
“When you initially pick place, date, and time, try to accommodate getting your important people there. After that, the wedding should be all about you two. Try to laugh off the mistakes (our card box was delivered Mr. and Mr.) and find joy in the process. Planning a wedding is a year-ish, the wedding is just one day. Don’t be miserable for a year!”
