Wedding of the Week: Lauren & Ryne
Lauren & Ryne
10-06-18
They actually met on Tinder (yes, it’s for love stories too). They talked for a while and finally went on their first date to De Palmas. Lauren spent the whole time giggling and apologizing for how awkward she was. And when she got in her car to leave, she couldn’t stop smiling! Their journey began, and she never looked back!
The Proposal
They went camping up in Helen in August 2017 to see the eclipse. They spent the weekend just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. Monday came, and they were so excited to watch the eclipse. They checked on it constantly with their solar glasses, and when it got close to totality, they set up chairs and stared into the sky. Suddenly everything went dark and quiet as it reached 100% totality, and it was breathtaking! Seriously a once in a lifetime experience! And just as the sun started to peek back around, Lauren looked over… the ring box caught her eye first. She gasped and as she looked up, Ryne looked into my eyes, and asked: “Will you marry me?”.
Wedding Inspiration
“I was inspired by the concept of vintage romance. Soft, beautiful colors, with a lot of lace and twinkling lights. We also wanted to get married in the mountains, as we often go to the mountains to off-road in my husband’s Subaru, as well as camp. We even got engaged in the mountains!”Favorite Wedding Memory
“Ryne and I wrote each other a short letter to read on our wedding day. We had the photographers take pictures of us reading each others letters. It was a very special moment! The overall decorations were just gorgeous and made my dream for the feel of the day come true! Dancing with all of our friends was very fun as well! Our DJ did a great job of keeping everyone on the dance floor, and just made the night feel like such a party!”
D.I.Y. Details
“A lot of our wedding decorations were DIY. My aunts, mother, and cousin really helped transform the barn into exactly what I envisioned. One of my favorites were some plastic ornaments of varying size and style. I glued on delicate lace to cover all of the ornaments, and repainted the tops cream. We hung them at different levels in the middle of our guest tables, and put in tea light candles for some soft lighting. My family put up a lot of curtain lighting with fabric, behind the cake, seating area, and our sweetheart table. It brought such a romantic feel to the barn, and made it feel like an absolute fairy tale. Another one of my absolutely favorite details was the table my husband built. We took it all the way to the venue to use as our sweetheart table, and then brought it home to be used as our dining table in our home! It’s such a special memory we’ll keep with us. “& a Word of Advice…
“Take your time to plan, but try to get as many details taken care of before 2 weeks prior to your wedding. The week before will be incredibly stressful, but just breathe and keep your eye on the important detail, that at the end you’ll be married to your best friend! Also, things are going to go wrong the day of your wedding. Just be flexible, and know that even though you’ll remember the faults, they won’t compare to the joy that is your wedding day! “
