Carol & Devon

Carol and Devon met when Devon began working for Carol’s family business.  On Devon’s first day on the job, he tried to tell Carol that she was not doing her paperwork properly. Carol didn’t like Devon at first. After working with him at the seasonal job, they started to hang out as friends and both started to see something there!

On Carol’s birthday, Devon started a wonderful speech about how much he loves her and that he wants ‘to jump in with both feet’ (being really romantic)!  Carol thought that this was the moment, but then Devon stopped and hesitated for a long time. Carol then asked, “well then why won’t you marry me then?”  Devon started laughing to the point where Carol got mad, and he was still laughing when he said “I am, will you marry me?” Carol made Devon ask her three times because she wanted to make sure he was really asking her.

We got to interview the couple and get some feedback about their special day!

Q: What were you inspired by while planning your wedding? (Theme, Color Combinations, Places?)
A: “Outdoors, at our home. Blues and silver for colors (Carol’s favorite colors)”

Q: What were some of your favorite wedding day details/memories?
A: “The 1,000 origami cranes for good blessings on our marriage. The sand ceremony for our keepsake. And our guest book with our picture on it. “

Q: Did you have any D.I.Y. (aka Do It Yourself) details?
A: “The wedding party did all of the origami cranes. My maid of honor did the centerpieces. If you have the time D.I.Y. is much less expensive.”

Q: What advice would you give to future couples planning their wedding?
A: “You don’t have to do everything that people suggest. This is your wedding, if you want kids, invite families, if you want formal, put formal attire on the invites (or wedding website).  This is for you, not anyone else.”
