Wedding of the Week: Stephanie & Romeo
Stephanie & Romeo 02-24-19
They met in college through mutual friends. Her husband attended San Jose State University. She lived in San Jose, CA and was attending community college at the time. Her best friend invited her to a party one night. Little did she know, she met her future husband. All she could remember was how funny this guy was and how she needed to see him again. They dated for a few months and one night, he handed her a piece of paper. It said "Will you be my girlfriend?" with two checkboxes for "yes" and "no". She said yes and they have been together for 10 years.
The Proposal
Wedding Inspiration "The barrels at the venue we chose inspired our wedding. My husband and I wanted a romantic/rustic wedding theme so we visited a few vineyards until we found Palm Event Center. We knew we wanted a lot of greenery decor. We are both allergic to flowers so we decided to have succulents in geometric terrariums as our centerpieces. I ordered faux eucalyptus garlands for the for the head tables and the sweetheart table. I also ordered a faux bouquet and faux eucalyptus bouquets for the bridesmaids. All the groomsmen and our wedding sponsors wore faux boutonnieres. All the faux florals/greenery were very lifelike and no one could tell the difference. My husband was amazed how real my bouquet looked on our wedding day. And we were lucky enough that our venue provided all the tealight candles to give our wedding that romantic feel. "
Favorite Wedding Memory "Everything! We had an amazing wedding party that included our siblings, our youngest cousins that are like siblings to us, and our closest friends from college. We wanted a small wedding guest count so that we can see and talk to everyone at the reception. Plus, we are glad we extended our reception an extra hour."
D.I.Y. Details "My husband and I made our own centerpieces with the help of his parents and one of my bridesmaids. We bought two styles of geometric terrariums from Michael's. The nursery where we bought our succulents from had an amazing staff that taught us how to make the succulent arrangements. My husband's coworker made wooden slabs for the centerpieces to be placed on for each table. I made a wooden sign with our names, wedding date, and hashtag "#soQuintoyou" at a DIY wood sign workshop at Board and Brush. It was used as focal piece on our welcome table. We printed out the table seating at home and placed it on a push-pin board we bought from Home Goods. We bought faux greenery from Hobby Lobby that was used to decorate our wedding cake and our welcome table. The bouquets, boutonnieres, and garlands were all purchased from Etsy."
& a Word of Advice... "It is YOUR wedding, you and your fiance's. No one else's. A lot of people will try to give their opinion and try to sway your decision making. But always try to keep in mind that this is one day only. You and your future spouse's. My husband and I agreed to remind each other to put ourselves first and what WE wanted."

"We loved hearing comments from our guests that they felt the love in the room for us. It makes us so happy that we shared this day with our closest family and friends. They've supported our relationship since day 1. Our hashtag #soQuintoyou came from when we initially wanted our first dance to be: So Into You by Tamia. "
