5 Ways to Remember a Loved One on your Wedding Day
Let’s be honest, it’s never easy when someone you love passes away. Memories rush through you & tug on your heart strings making life really hard to deal with. Losing someone close to your engagement can really become distracting (not in a bad way by any means) but rather than allow your mourning to get in the way of your wedding planning, use it as an opportunity to celebrate that person’s life and what they meant to you!
Here are 5 different ways our former couples have honored loved ones that you can incorporate into your special day!
1. Create a Pin
Place an image of your loved one inside of a small pendant frame and a safety pin to the inside of your jacket or dress close to your heart &
know that your someone special is with you on your wedding day!
2. Utilize your Accessories
Place an image of your loved one inside of a small pendant frame and place it on a chain or string to tie around your bouquet!
3. Let them Lead the Way
Place a sentimental photo and a sweet message to place at the beginning of the aisle to see as your start this metaphorical “new beginning” as you walk to meet the love of your life.
4. Put them on Display
This is a great option if you’ve had the unfortunate experience of losing more than one family member or friend & allows you and others to celebrate with their memory during your reception.
5. Save them a Seat
This is usually more typical to see when it is the immediate family that has passed away, however, feel free to save anyone who was close to your heart a seat during your ceremony! You can honor them with a piece of art of a portrait of them with a candle or sentimental poem.
