Courtney’s husband proposed on New Year’s Eve when the ball dropped right before their wedding because Robert never got a chance to before he left for basic training. They met on a dating app called Tinder. Courtney and Robert had their first meet-up on Valentine’s Day in 2015 and became boyfriend/ girlfriend 5 days later.

Favorite Part of Wedding Planning
“I’ve always wanted to be a wedding planner so I loved the process. I made everything myself, from the invitations to the coasters, to the signs. It was a lot of work but I enjoyed it!”

Tear Jerking Story from the Wedding
“My husbands uncle was kind enough to officiate our wedding. He made it very unique and personal to our story. I am constantly afraid of the day that my husband leaves for Afghanistan so his uncle brought it up. He wrapped a ribbon around our hands and looked at my husband and said “whenever you’re gone and scared and miss your wife just wrap this around your hand and remember this beautiful moment.” Then he looked at me and said, “and you do the same whenever you miss him.” That’s a moment I will never forget and always cherish..“

“Our photographer Kimberly took sooo many pictures! She listened to everything we wanted and had great ideas of her own! She even let us take pictures outside, like I wanted, even though it was freezing!“

Why should you be chosen as the CP Couple of the Year?

“My husband will be deploying in June 2020 to Afghanistan for 9 months. We never got a chance to go on a honeymoon because he had to report back to his duty station the day after our wedding (wedding was in Ohio where we’re from and DS is in Colorado where we live now). This will would be an amazing late honeymoon and an early farewell deployment gift I could surprise my husband with!“
