Wedding of the Week: Amanda & Ryan
Amanda & Ryan
7-20-18
Ryan and Amanda met during their freshman year of college. They had a class together and had to share a book for a project, so Ryan asked for Amanda’s number. He texted her later to say that it was him and all she said was, “thanks lol,” so he thought that Amanda wasn’t interested. A week later, the class was canceled, so Ryan texted Amanda, “Did you see that class is canceled?” Amanda replied, “If that’s true, I’ll love you forever!” From there, they started talking and Amanda really did love him forever!
The Proposal
Ryan took Amanda back to their college two days after their 6th anniversary. The couple walked to the gazebo where Ryan originally asked Amanda out, but as they approached, two guys walked up to the gazebo. Amanda thought Ryan might be taking her there to propose, so she didn’t know what was going to happen next! Ryan suggested they keep walking and ended up finding this secluded area over a bridge by the lake, where Ryan proposed.
Wedding Inspiration
“We called our theme “classy rustic”. Our colors were navy and blush with a lot of greenery.”Favorite Wedding Memory
“My husband never cries, but when he saw me coming down the aisle, he actually did! And that was after a first look. Our ceremony was officiated by his Uncle and was so personal. I thought the reception would be my favorite, but it was actually the ceremony. And the fact that we had the most perfect weather and were able to do everything outside like we wanted is one of my favorite details!”
D.I.Y. Details
“Ryan’s Mom makes homemade jams, so she made them for our favors. She put them in varied shape mason jars and put tags with our monogram. My husband cut small tree rounds out of branches from our yard and made them into place card holders.”& a Word of Advice…
“Give yourself time! We planned our wedding over a year and nine months and never really felt the stress associated with wedding planning.”
