The Proposal
One of Camille and Anthony’s favorite things to do together is going to concerts (mostly reggae and country). When they heard that their favorite band Rebelution was coming into town in June 2017, the couple got tickets immediately. The day of the concert, Camille’s sister who lived in Montana at the time flew into Albuquerque to surprise their dad for Father’s Day (or so she thought), which was that same weekend. Camille’s best friend mentioned that she was going to the concert as well, which was a surprise to her. Right before Rebelution was about to hit the stage, Camille noticed her other sister and some other friends were unexpectedly there. Anthony and Camille were walking towards them when Camille noticed her parents off to the left by a tree. Camille was a little confused but says that the mix of music and margaritas served as a little distraction so she just ran over to them to say hi! When she turned around, Anthony was behind her on one knee with a ring in his hand. Camille said, “I couldn’t see anything past the tears I had running down my face and just nodded my head YES!”

Wedding Inspiration
“We were inspired by light grey tones with natural lush green accents. We were going for a whispy boho garden vibe. Our venue was small and intimate, and we wanted it to have a backyard feel.”

Favorite Wedding Detail
“We love the movie Up, which the Victorian style house at the venue reminded us of. After the ceremony I surprised him with a small gift, I gave him the “Ellie badge” from the movie and pinned it on his lapel. A few moments later, he surprised me with a gift as well– an “Adventure Book” photo album inspired by the movie. I cried with laughter telling him, we are so stinkin cute I can’t handle it.”

D.I.Y. Details
“Almost all of the details in our wedding were DIY, and I could not be more happy with how they turned out. We put the centerpieces together the day before, which turned out beautifully. We made “wedding soundtrack” CDs and seed packets as favors. The seeds in the packets were wildflowers, which I thought fit nicely with the garden theme, and they’re good for the bees so that was a plus! The CD covers and seed envelopes were all printed at home and assembled by us and some of our wedding party, which took a little time but saved us a lot of money in the long run. My favorite DIY decoration we had were the dreamcatcher-like flower wreaths. I used sewing hoops, hot glue, greenery, succulents and ribbon and it added such a cute bohemian feel.”

A Note About Planning
“It was absolutely perfect, and I’m super proud of the work we put into it to save us money while doing exactly what I’d always imagined. This was a destination wedding, as we live in Albuquerque, and after searching the internet for tips on a budget friendly wedding in southern California, every blog insisted you cannot have a nice wedding in the region for under $10,000. I’m happy to say we did it for much less than that, including travel costs! :)”

& a Word of Advice…
“Try to go with the flow as much as possible. Not everything will go right but the day will still end up perfect! Also, set clear expectations for the bridal party. You want them to feel included and helpful, that’s why you asked them to be part of your big day to begin with!”
